Cradle of Hope was established in 1973 when its founder, Ann Dickinson, used a $5,000 inheritance to help five pregnant women. Since then, Cradle of Hope continues to partner with over 130 agencies to assist families and has allocated over $5 million to more than 25,000 Minnesota women who needed assistance as they faced a challenging pregnancy or crisis related to the birth of their baby. For a pregnant woman and her baby, obtaining the necessary financial and material assistance can relieve an abundance of stress during this already difficult time. Cradle of Hope ensures that rent is paid and that portable cribs are distributed so every baby has a safe place to sleep. Families feel supported and are filled with hope for their futures – sometimes for the first time.
Cradle of Hope’s annual Spring for Life Gala will take place on Satruday, April 7th at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley, MN. All proceeds raised at this event will be used to help families with rent assistance and portable cribs so every baby has a safe place to sleep. Each portable crib & safe sleep materials that each family receives costs $100 and we are hoping to raise enough money to help 2,000 families. All are welcome to attend. Tickets can be purchased by going to the Cradle of Hope. If you are unable to attend but want to make a donation, you can also do that there.
We are also in need of baby items to fill wellness baskets. A Wellness Basket is basically a baby shower in a basket that we distribute to families in need. These baskets help our families begin their new life together and show them they are loved. We are in need of diapers, wipes, baby clothing (size 3-12 months), and Halo Sleepsack Swaddles – new items only. Collect these items as a group or on your own and then contact us at to arrange a drop off. 651-636-0637
