Tuesdays on Twin Cities Live we feature a local good company, big or small, that’s achieved great success. This Good Company is unlike any we’ve ever featured because it’s a band, started for fun, that’s now turned into a very lucrative business. The catch is, the band is one your kids are probably obsessed with.
Koo Koo Kangaroo started when college buddies, Bryan Atchison and Neil Olstad entered a Battle of the Bands competition. They sadly didn’t win, but their act stood out. Their wild songs about cat parties and uni-brows were a hit at bars, but it wasn’t until a friend suggested they sing at a children’s birthday party, that they started getting a lot of attention. Now 11-years-later, they’ve toured the world, opening for big acts like Frank Turner. And their online music videos are getting millions of views.
Koo Koo Kangaroo has tour dates set through the New Year, with shows in Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Dakotas. And they’re not all kid shows! Click here for a list of show dates.
