A St Paul bar has become staple of Lowertown for 70 years and it’s dubbed “St. Paul’s Original Sports Bar!” TCL photographer Drew Schingen takes us to Alary’s. Al Baisi, one of the original owners, played for the Bears in the 1940’s. He partnered with with Larry Lehner to run the place and that’s how the club became known as Alary’s Club Bar.
Alary’s will be celebrating its 70th anniversary this Saturday with 70 cent wings, a 70th anniversary burger for 7 dollars and $1 beers! For all you Chicago Bear fans looking for a place to watch the game, stop by any Sunday during football season to see them play!
