Buddy the Elf’s Holiday Cookie Recipe
1 Cup Butter
1-1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs (beaten)
1-1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Extract
3-1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs and lemon extract. Beat in flour and baking powder.
Chill dough 1-2 hours. Roll out to ¼ inch thickness (I use Wondra flour for rolling out my dough).
Cut using your favorite cutters.
Transfer cookies to parchment lined cookie sheets and bake for 4-5 minutes only DO NOT OVER BAKE.
Shine should just be off of the cookie and it is done.
If you want to trim with colored sugars, brush cookie lightly with milk or water and sprinkle on sugars.
1-1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
½ Teaspoon Lemon Extract
1-2 Tablespoons Milk
Combine all ingredients together mixing until smooth. Drizzle or frost and trim as desired.
