The holidays are over and you’re probably thinking there are no more deals to be had. Au contraire! If you need new bedding, now is the time to buy. But you might want to hold off on buying a new bed. Twin Cities Live reporter and resident Deal Diva, Kelli Hanson, has more on January deals and what not to buy this month.
**WHAT TO BUY**
1. Holiday Decor
Walmart will save you $$ on Christmas Trees. Here’s a 7 ft. Pre-lit fiber optic Artificial Christmas tree, multicolor on sale for $55.50.
Check out www.wayfair.com for Christmas Tree deals as well!
And right now at Target, save up to 50% off Holiday Décor.
The two best times to buy TVs are Black Friday and Superbowl Season. Current TV models have been out for nearly a year by February, so there’s a natural decrease in price. Consumer Reports says expect the best deals on 49-inch to 65-inch TVs.
Here are two deals that our Deal Diva found online!
– RCA 65″ 4k HDTV: was $899 now $379 @ Walmart
– TCL 65″ 4k UHD roku smart TV: was $1,099 now $799 @ amazon
3. White Sale
In 1878, John Wanamaker, known as a pioneer in marketing, proclaimed January to be the time for a “white sale”. Bed linens, which were available in white only, were sold at a discount. This was done to increase sales for these items at a time of the year when sales were normally slow. Now stores have huge sales on linens: bed sheets, bedding sets, towels, every year in January. For example, right now at Target save up to 20% on bedding & bath + an addition 15% off with promo code HOME.
**WHAT TO SKIP**
Experts say the earliest you should buy a Mattress is February. That’s when you can expect President’s Day sales. By March or April, new mattress models will be in stores and as new mattresses arrive, the older models will go on sale. If you want to buy a floor model, you could save as much as 50% off the price.
2. A new phone
The best time to buy a new phone is from September to November because new models tend to be released in the Fall. iPhones come out like clockwork every September and sales will follow!
