Dr. Archelle Georgiou is the health expert for Twin Cities Live. She has experience as a practicing physician, business executive, advisor, author and speaker. Currently, Dr. Georgiou is the Chief Health Officer for Starkey Hearing Technologies and is responsible for the company’s commitment to improve individuals’ overall wellness and quality of life. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member and Executive in Residence at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. In 2019, she was appointed to the Board of Directors for CaringBridge as well as the Quality Committee for Childrens Hospital of Minnesota.
Archelle graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, was board certified and practiced in Internal Medicine before transitioning to managed care. From 1999-2007, she was a senior executive and Chief Medical Officer with UnitedHealth Group. Since 2007, Dr. Georgiou has been an on-air health expert and has covered more than 1500 medical topics, and television viewers inspired Dr. Georgiou to develop the CARESModel℠, a five-step approach that consumers can use to make healthcare decisions. In February 2017, she published her first book, Health Care Choices: 5 Steps to Getting the Medical Care You Want and Need (Rowman & Littlefield).
