The Kitchen Pantry Scientist Liz Heinecke wants to help your kids get ahead in school. She brought three different plant-based experiements, one for elementary school students, one for middle school and one for high schoolers to try.
Elementary School: “Vegetable Vampires”
This project demonstrates “capillary action”, as the leaves draw the colored water up inside.
Middle School: “Leaf Pounding”
You can use hammers and cloth to make some cool plant prints.
High School: Vegetable Chromatography
Students can separate out the different colors in leaves and plants.
