Shared Work Spaces

If you work from home you’ve got flexibility, there’s zero commuting, and let’s face it, you’re probably still in your jammies.

But if that new season of your favorite series that just dropped on Netflix is distracting you, or maybe your dial up internet is dragging down your productivity, it might be time to look into a shared co-working space. These trendy spots are popping up all over the Twin Cities. Reporter Kelli Hanson stopped by four different spaces to find out what the environment is like how much it could cost you.

  1. The Riveter: this co-working collaborative space is in Edina off of France Avenue. Inside this 6,000 square foot space, you’ll find plenty of desk seating and private offices you can rent monthly. There’s also a mother’s room, a kitchenette and onsite parking.   2. Cornerstone Studios: this space is location in Northeast Minneapolis. It’s a creative workspace for wedding and event professionals. That means photographers, stylists, wedding planners, stationary designers can work here instead of meeting their clients at the nearest coffee shop. Inside you’ll find quiet corners and communal tables. Memberships range from basic to plus. Click here for membership details.
  3. ModernWell is located in Minneapolis, right off of I-394. It’s a women centered space, but all are welcome. There are several private offices available to rent, along with several private desks. Three times a week you’ll also find yoga or fitness classes in this space. Community memberships, using the large open space, are available as well as private offices. Those start at $700 a month.   4. The Coven in the Northloop is a co-working space designed with women, non-binary and trans people in mind. Entreprenuers and 9 to 5 corporate people use this space. They currently have over 400 members and will be opening a Saint Paul location by the end of 2019. Members get access to events and workshops, as well as access to a pantry full of snacks and beverages. There are several co-working spaces, a private prayer room and parent room. As well as phone booths to have private conversations, a beauty bar and a large conference room.
