Laurie Crowell of Golden Fig Fine Foods stopped by our pop-up show at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema with award-worthy popcorn recipes.
1/2 C powdered sugar
1/4 C granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 C popcorn kernels (make according to your poppers instructions)
1/2 C butter
2/3 C granulated sugar
2 TB ground cinnamon
2 TB light corn syrup
2 tsp. vanilla bean paste
Once popcorn is popped, place in large bowl.
Mix churro sprinkle and set aside.
In medium saucepan, over medium heat, stir together butter, sugar, cinnamon, corn syrup and vanilla bean paste.
Bring to a simmer while constantly stirring and cook until no longer grainy (3-5 minutes)
Slowly pour cooked mixture over popped corn while constantly tossing corn for even coating.
When all popcorn is coated, sprinkle churro dust on, while continuing to toss popcorn. Once well coated serve.
Bloody Mary Popcorn Sprinkle
1 TB granulated garlic
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 TB celery seed powder
1/4 C kosher salt
1 TB smoked paprika
1 tsp lemon powder
Mix well then toss with freshly buttered popcorn.
Chili Cheese Popcorn
1/4 C nutritional yeast flakes
1/2 tsp dried jalapeno powder
Mix and toss on freshly buttered popcorn
