Whether you’re watching the big game this weekend because you love football or you just watch for the commercials, chances are you’re also looking forward to all the tasty snacks. Twin Cities Live decided to start a friendly competition between some KSTP staffers to make the best game day snacks. We’re starting with finger food party snacks, then chip dips galore and we’ll wrap up with the best sliders and mini sandwiches. Our goal is to help you make the perfect football food that will be a crowd pleaser while you watch the big game.
Lisa’s recipe for Slow Cooker Honey Chipotle Meatballs goes up against Christian’s recipe for McPuffs!
8 oz whipped cream cheese
4-6 pieces of bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 Tablespoons chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 8 oz tube of crescent rolls
Mix cream cheese, bacon, onion and pepper together.
Roll out entire tube of crescent rolls onto a cutting board and press all of the gaps and holes together to make a solid sheet.
Spread the cream cheese mixture all over the sheet of crescent roll dough.
Roll up the dough from the long side to make a long tube.
Slice the tube into 16 pieces (like pinwheels) and place each piece down flat on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
