The biggest fashion designers, celebrities and self-proclaimed fashionistas just wrapped up one of their most celebrated events. New York Fashion Week took over the Big Apple last week and along with the clothes all eyes were on the model’s makeup. Runway looks can be a bit unapproachable, even sometimes scary. But Makeup Artist Julie Martin says you can take those looks from runway to reality with just a bit of tweaking. Julie stopped by with her favorite products to achieve three Fashion Week trends.
1. First Julie says it’s all about primers. Many designers wanted all eyes to be on the clothes, so their models wore no foundation, instead going heavy on the Primer. To achieve this no makeup look, Julie says start with a primer. She uses Clarins Pore Control Serum to help reduce oil production and minimize pores. Next she says get a good primer to even out the texture of the skin. Julie likes Clarins SOS primer in Coral. Lastly, Julie says set it with Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray. This will give your skin a dewy fishing and will keep your makeup on all day long.
2. Another Trend on the Runway this year was a bold shiny lip! Julie says achieve this look by wearing one of her favorite lipsticks – Chanel Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear. It’s high shine, high gloss and super pigmented to ensure it stays put!
3. Another trend seen all over the runway was Lashes, the chunkier the better! Models were wearing loads and loads of mascara, especially on the lower lash line. Julie says there’s a right way to do this and uses her favorite mascara, L’Oréal Voluminous carbon black.
Julie has teamed up with Clarins and is giving away a gift basket worth $250. Click here to enter to win!
