The American Swedish Institute’s signature event “Cocktails at the Castle” is back for a special event September 15, 2017 from 7-11 p.m. The event is in the Turnblad Mansion and outdoor courtyard. The night is all about celebrating women artists while enjoying music, food and other activities. Karin Broos will be among the artists honored. She’s an acclaimed Swedish artist who is known for her paintings of women.
Visitors will be able to tour the mansion’s gallery, take a picture in a photo booth, enjoy some dancing and so much more. There will be music by Lady Lark, Lady Midnight, and a dance party with DJ Keezy. There’s even a Women’s Woodshop to encourage women to learn about woodworking skills.
The American Swedish Institute is a historic mansion that was founded by a Swedish immigrant in 1929. Swan J. Turnblad was a newspaper publisher. The museum has been a great spot to learn about the arts and culture.
Tickets to Cocktails at the Castle are $17 for members and $20 for general admission for non ASI members. If available, tickets are $25 at the door. Tickets tend to sell out. To learn more, click here.
