Valleyfair

Summer fun is in full swing at Valleyfair in Shakopee. There are tons of things to check out. Rides, a water park, and plenty of food. Twin Cities Live Reporters Emily Engberg and Kelli Hanson give us a tour of all the fun. That includes some of the new foods you can try at Valleyfair.

You can of course have the classics like a funnel cake. That is always a crowd pleaser, but save room for things like the Nordic Waffles. Valleyfair has multiple choices. They have a Minnesota Waffle. It’s tator tots, cheese curds and bacon all in one. They also have a Pizza Waffle and an All Day Breakfast Waffle. You can’t go wrong with any of them. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try the S’mores!

If you like hot dogs, you’ll love the Wild Rice Brats. It’s a brat topped with wild rice soup. Don’t forget about the Hot Dish Dog. It’s sourdough bread, pulled turkey meat, pickles, pepperjack cheese and bacon.

One of the classic rides is High Roller. It’s the oldest rollercoaster. It was built in 1976 when Valleyfair first opened. It’s a classic all wood coaster. It’s 2,892 feet of track and it reaches speeds of forty seven miles per hour.

Here are some fun things to keep in mind for your next trip. There are two parks in one at Valleyfair. Valleyfair itself and Soak City Waterpark. Ride the rides during the morning and plan for the waterpark in the afternoon. That way, you end your day wet and can stay dry for the rides. Lastly, consider a Gold Season Pass. It gets you all sorts of perks. It gives you unlimited visits to come back to the park. It’s good all season long and it includes Valleyscare, free parking and other park offers.
